Welcome to the Hudson DEI Task Force!

Learn how together, through education, dialogue, and action, we can cultivate a community dedicated to diversity, equality, and inclusion.

What is the Hudson DEI Task Force?

This group is a task force with the eventual goal of promoting the formation of an alliance.

Our country continues to struggle with what equality and justice mean, look like, and how to put them into practice. The Hudson Diversity Equity Inclusion (DEI) Task Force is working to address these issues by cultivating a community dedicated to diversity, equity, and inclusion. How can we accomplish this together? It begins with education.

Engaging in topics related to each of our deeply rooted identities and considering what justice means and looks like in practice brings out strong feelings, and yet are conversations that need to occur. Through intentional education, dialogue, and action, a community where people experience equity and inclusion in practice can be created.

Hudson’s interfaith community, our schools, and our civic organizations invite you to join a dialogue to begin to explore these issues as it impacts our families, our friends, and our neighbors. This is one of many related efforts in the community.  Check the Upcoming Events page for more upcoming programs, events, initiatives, and additional opportunities to get involved.

Join Hudson community organizations for programs, events, and initiatives on the topic of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). Our first collaborative effort is an opportunity for the community to come together to read the New York Times best seller, White Fragility, by Robin DiAngelo. This book reflects on racism, introspection, and personal accountability. DiAngelo explores the psychological, social, and cultural barriers that prevent us from examining our own biases and racial tendencies. Register for the book read here!

One of the first opportunities through the collaborative is an opportunity to join small groups of 10 to 12 other community members for a dialogue October 1 -November 5, 2020. The dialogues will be facilitated by members of the community. In between the dialogue sessions, expert panelists will answer questions and address common themes that come out of each small group discussion.  Learn more about this opportunity here.

Be a part of the ongoing conversation. Check the Events Page for additional opportunities to engage through partner organizations.  Continue the conversation with friends and family members as we consider how to ensure Hudson community members and visitors feel welcome and are treated equitably. Find ways to take action together. See upcoming events here.
