Thank you for your interest in participating in the free community Book Read and Dialogue in collaboration with our many community partners – The City of Hudson, Hudson City Schools, Hudson Community Foundation, Hudson Community First, Hudson Library and Historical Society, League of Women Voters Hudson, The Learned Owl, and Western Reserve Academy.
Any member of the Hudson community is welcome to participate. This includes residents and those who work in Hudson.
Read the book White Fragility between October 1 and October 29 (see timeline and agenda here) and join small groups of up to 10-12 randomly selected groups of fellow Hudson community members in a dialogue via Zoom on what you read. Participants will be in the same small groups throughout the dialogue. These will be facilitated by members of the community. Did we mention this is FREE?!
October 1 through November 5. All participants will need to be available during the following dates and times for small group discussions:
October 1, 15, & 29
6:45 PM – 8:15 PM
Timeline & Small Group Discussion Agenda
An optional closing / Q&A session will take place on November 5 at 6:45 PM.
The discussions will take place virtually via Zoom and will be facilitated by members of the community. In between the group discussions, two expert panelists will answer questions and address common themes that came up in each small group discussion. These will be prerecorded and available on this website for viewing at participants’ leisure. (See the “Panel Discussions” section below).
Zoom Info: For those who are new to Zoom, we will offer several opportunities prior to the start date to practice. Dates will be sent to all who pre-register by September 10. You can join the zoom dialogues using your phone or a computer.
NOTE: You will need a working camera on your phone or computer to participate.
